The Library — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Who we are
The Library (Android app com.usefulappz.library) is developed by Usefulappz™ (Mike Kelley). Contact: mikekelleyii.mk2@gmail.com
The short version
The Library requests no permissions and collects no data. The books are bundled inside the app and read fully offline. No accounts, no server, no analytics, no ads SDK, no tracking — we never see what you read.
How the app works
- Reading is offline. Every book in the app is a public-domain text stored inside the app itself. Your reading position and display preferences (such as font size) are remembered in the app on your own device only, so you can pick up where you left off. That information never leaves your phone.
- Doors out open in your browser. The app includes links to outside libraries and services — Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, LibriVox, and the Internet Archive on The Stacks page, LibriVox listening pages, a PayPal tip jar, and the Tattoo Art Customs gallery. Those links open in your system browser, outside the app. If you follow one, whatever you do on that site is under that site's own privacy policy; the app itself sends nothing anywhere.
What the app stores
Only your reading position and preferences, on your device, as described above. We receive nothing and keep nothing. Uninstalling the app erases them.
Permissions, and why
- None. The Library requests no Android permissions. The books need no connection, and outside links are handled by your browser, not the app.
Ads
This version contains no advertising SDK and no ad IDs. Labeled placeholder spaces for ads and a sponsor are reserved in the app for a possible future version; they load nothing and collect nothing. If a real ad-supported build ever ships, this policy and the app's Google Play declarations will be updated first.
Children
The Library is a general-audience reading app. One shelf holds classic children's literature as part of the wider collection, but the app is not directed at children under 13 — our child-directed app is the separate Kids' Wing, which has its own policy. The Library collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
