Habit Dot — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Who we are
Habit Dot (Android app com.usefulappz.habitdot) is developed by Usefulappz™ (Mike Kelley). Contact: mikekelleyii.mk2@gmail.com
The short version
Your habits live on your phone, not on a server of ours. Habit Dot has no accounts and no analytics of our own, and we never receive your habits, your check-ins, or your streaks. The app does show ads in its free version, served by Google AdMob — and Google, not us, collects certain data to serve those ads, as described below and in the app's Google Play Data safety section. Buying Premium removes the ads.
What the app stores, and where
Everything Habit Dot itself stores is kept in the app's private on-device storage (Android SharedPreferences) on your phone:
- The habits you create — their names and any reminder settings you choose.
- Your check-ins: the days you mark a habit done (the "dots"), and the streaks and statistics the app calculates from them.
- App settings and preferences.
- Whether you own Premium, and the end time of any temporary Premium window you earned by watching a rewarded ad.
That data is never transmitted to us, never sold by us, and never shared by us. Uninstalling the app erases everything it stored.
Advertising — Google AdMob
The free version of Habit Dot shows banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. To serve, measure, and (where you have allowed it) personalize those ads, Google may collect and process data including:
- Approximate location.
- App interactions and ad interactions.
- Diagnostics and performance data.
- Device or other IDs, including your device's advertising ID.
This collection is done by Google under Google's Privacy Policy and Google's advertising policies — it is Google's collection for ads, not data sent to us, and it matches what the app declares in its Google Play Data safety section. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalization, in your device's Settings under Privacy → Ads (wording varies by device).
Premium users see no ads: if you buy Premium, the banner is hidden and the interstitial and rewarded ads are not loaded or shown.
Purchases — Google Play Billing
Habit Dot is free to download, with one optional in-app purchase: Premium, a one-time $2.99 purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Google Play handles your payment; we never see or store your card or payment details. The app records only the fact that Premium is owned — stored on your device as described above — so it can unlock Premium and turn ads off.
Permissions, and why
- Internet and network state: so AdMob can fetch ads and Google Play Billing can process the Premium purchase.
- Notifications: the habit reminders you set for yourself (Android 13+).
- Schedule exact alarm: so a reminder you set fires at the time you chose.
- Billing: the Google Play Billing permission, for the optional Premium purchase only.
Retention and deletion
Your habit data lives in the app's private storage on your device, for as long as you keep the app. Delete habits inside the app, or uninstall the app to erase everything it stored. For data Google collects through AdMob or Google Play, see Google's own privacy controls and policy linked above.
Children
Habit Dot is a general habit-tracking tool. It is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
