Urnes Serpent ♥ 0
tribalnorsevikingurnesscandinavianmythologyserpentdragonknotworkA Viking Age serpent-dragon in the Urnes style, its slender body woven in elegant interlace inside a runic oval band, in full color on dark slate with matching clean linework. Original design inspired by the carved wooden portals of Scandinavian stave churches.
Tattooing notes: Tribal
Placement: Tribal is drawn for anatomy — shoulders, upper arms, chest, back and calves — flowing with the muscle. The design and the body part are one decision.
Size: Lives large: sweeping shapes want four inches and up, and dense patterns need scale so the skin-gaps between black shapes stay open as ink settles.
How it ages: Among the most permanent work there is. Fine points and hairline gaps soften first; bold, well-spaced tribal barely changes in twenty years.
